Cypriot employers, whether Companies or individuals, have to apply, as a first step, to the appropriate Ministry of Labour to obtain the necessary Permit for such an employment. Housemaids, waitress/waiters, barmaids/barmen, cooks, bakers and confectioners, butchers, kitchen assistants, nurses for clinics and Old People Houses, trainers for horses/dogs, farms, agriculture, petrol stations electricians builders, welders, aluminium technicians, etc. Salaries, benefits and other emoluments are always in accordance with the Cyprus Government standards and are clearly specified in a contract signed between the employer and the employee. Applicants for employment in Cyprus must be young (depending on the job applied for), healthy and fit for work, to speak English and/or Greek language and have satisfactory knowledge, skill and experience in the job applied for.
